Italy Supports Plans To Improve Migrant Situation In Libya

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed its support for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in implementing their joint plan in Libya. This is to contribute to achieving stability in the country and combat human trafficking.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two organizations will be able to work in all regions of the country through aid, stabilization, and peaceful coexistence initiatives, between communities, migrants, refugees, and displaced persons.

The Ministry also pointed out that it is organizing training activities in the field of human rights and international law for Libyan officials that are responsible for managing migration flows and shelters.
