The Egyptian Space Agency welcomed a delegation from Libya’s Centre for Space Sciences and Remote Sensing. The meeting took place at the Egyptian Space City, led by Dr Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, and the Libyan delegation, including Dr Akram Abdel-Salam Alkaseh and Dr Mahmoud Khalifa Milad.

Dr Sedky expressed his pleasure at the visit, highlighting its significance in fostering collaboration. He emphasised Egypt’s commitment to forming strategic partnerships with Libya. These partnerships aim to advance space technology capabilities and promote sustainable development in the region.

Dr Akram Alkaseh praised Egypt’s progress in space technology. He noted its leadership in Africa and the Middle East, particularly in satellite development and localisation. He stressed the importance of leveraging Egypt’s expertise to enhance Libya’s capabilities.

The discussions focused on key areas of cooperation. These included advancing remote sensing technologies, knowledge-sharing, and joint projects. Both sides expressed commitment to achieving mutual goals and strengthening ties.

This visit aligns with the Egyptian Space Agency’s mission to deepen connections with Arab research institutions. The agency aims to support regional efforts to develop the space sector and foster integration among Arab nations.

Egypt continues to position itself as a regional leader in space exploration, with Libya seeking to benefit from this expertise. The collaboration reflects a shared vision of utilising space technology to address regional challenges and drive innovation.
