The Libyan Red Crescent has recovered two bodies believed to be those of male migrants in the Qarabouli area, east of Tripoli, after receiving a report through the local emergency contact centre 1415.
The Tripoli branch of the Libyan Red Crescent said its body management teams moved to the two separate locations immediately after receiving the alert. The operation was carried out in coordination with Qarabouli Police Station, after legal procedures were completed and permission was obtained from the Public Prosecution.
According to the organisation, the teams recovered the two bodies in line with approved humanitarian and legal procedures. The bodies were then handed over to the Ambulance and Emergency Service to complete the transfer process.
The Libyan Red Crescent Tripoli branch said its specialised teams would continue carrying out their humanitarian duties with professionalism and full respect for human dignity, regardless of the circumstances.
The incident comes amid continued reports of migrant deaths along Libya’s coastal and desert routes, where many people attempting to move through the country face dangerous conditions, exploitation, and limited access to emergency assistance.
