Ageela Saleh: We Presented An Acceptable Initiative to Solve the Crisis

On Monday, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh, stated that he has presented an acceptable initiative to solve the Libyan crisis, during his visit to Morocco.

“I came to find a solution to the crisis, and Morocco promised to do its utmost to support the Libyan solution”, Saleh told the Moroccan Parliament. Saleh’s initiative is based on the formation of a new Presidential Council, that would lead to future parliamentary and presidential elections.

During his speech before the emergency meeting of the Arab League on the Libyan crisis last June, Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, called for the establishment of a small team of concerned countries, to set a strategic vision for a collective Arab position. This is to contribute to the settlement of the crisis.

Bourita stressed “the necessity to open up to all Libyan parties, listen to them, and bring their views closer”. He added that Morocco welcomed any efforts or initiatives, aimed at bringing the Libyans closer, and pushing for a solution to this conflict that has lasted for nine years.
