Libya’s “Akakus” Achieves Record Oil Production

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) of Libya has announced that Akakus Oil Company has reached its highest crude oil production levels in seven years, recording an output of 306,000 barrels per day.

In a statement, the NOC’s Chairman and Board members praised the competitive spirit demonstrated by the corporation’s employees and its affiliated companies, which has contributed to increasing oil production and fostering economic stability in Libya.

This milestone reflects the success of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency across oilfields, despite the challenges faced by the Libyan oil sector in recent years.

The NOC reiterated its commitment to achieving higher production targets and urged all field operators and companies under its umbrella to intensify their efforts to reach the corporation’s phased production goals.

Akakus Oil Company’s achievement is viewed as a significant step towards revitalising Libya’s oil industry, which remains a cornerstone of the nation’s economy.
