Dr. Azeddine Al-Darsi, President of Benghazi University, recently announced an ambitious plan to expand the academic facilities at the institution. The expansion includes the introduction of new colleges, construction of modern lecture halls, and dedicated student facilities, as well as the creation of a main conference hall which will be the largest in Libya, seating over a thousand people.

In an interview published by the Libyan News Agency, Dr. Al-Darsi emphasized the university’s commitment to improving educational quality by updating curricula to meet labor market demands and global trends.

Highlighting the digital and remote learning advancements, Dr. Al-Darsi noted significant efforts in digitizing the university’s operations. Plans are in place to expand online education this year, aiming to provide flexible learning options across Libya.

The collaboration with the National Oil Corporation has notably advanced the university’s digital infrastructure. There are plans to further enhance digitalization across all academic departments.

In an effort to bolster its global standing, Benghazi University is extending its international partnerships, which include scholarships from top global universities for students of the Economics College. These partnerships aim to enhance academic exchange and collaborative research.

Dr. Al-Darsi also mentioned ongoing efforts to construct new facilities to meet the growing needs of students, with plans to complete various projects that will benefit all faculties.”
