Libyan National Army (LNA) Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko as part of his official visit to Belarus.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in key sectors, including technology, economy, industry, and agriculture, according to a statement from Haftar’s delegation.

During the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral relations to serve mutual interests and support stability and development.

Haftar expressed Libya’s interest in leveraging Belarusian expertise in various fields, particularly in technological advancements and industrial growth.

“Mr. Haftar, I want you to feel at home here and to consider us your friends,” Lukashenko stated. He highlighted his familiarity with Libya’s situation and reaffirmed Belarus’ commitment to supporting the country.

Lukashenko also recalled his past visits to Libya, acknowledging the changes it has undergone but stressing Belarus’ readiness to assist.

The Belarusian leader assured that all agreements reached during Haftar’s visit would be implemented as planned. He reiterated Belarus’ commitment to strengthening ties and welcomed Haftar and his delegation.

For his part, Haftar expressed his appreciation for the invitation, stating, “We are very glad to be here. Thank you very much for the invitation. We are willing to cooperate.”
