The Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, held a meeting with senior executives from SLB (formerly Schlumberger) on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2025). The talks focused on strengthening cooperation and advancing oil and gas services in Libya.

Representing SLB were Chief Executive Officer Olivier Le Peuch, Executive Vice President Steve Gassen, MENA President Jesus Lamas, Global Sales Director Khaled Al-Aradi, Global Integration Head Gokhan Yarem, and Libya Country Manager Mostafa Ajaj.

Discussions centred on ways to enhance existing collaboration between NOC and SLB, with a particular focus on supporting exploration and production operations, improving field efficiency, and introducing cutting-edge digital and drilling technologies. Both sides also explored opportunities to expand training programmes for Libyan professionals and promote the localisation of technology and industry within Libya.

Suleiman emphasised the importance of maintaining and deepening the strategic partnership between the NOC and SLB, describing the company as a global leader in oilfield services. He noted that the NOC is committed to diversifying cooperation areas to improve the technical and administrative performance of the national energy sector.

The SLB delegation expressed appreciation for the NOC’s cooperation and reaffirmed the company’s readiness to continue supporting Libya’s oil and gas development. The executives highlighted SLB’s commitment to deploying the latest technologies and contributing to workforce capacity-building initiatives across Libya.

The meeting underscored the mutual interest in modernising Libya’s oil services sector through innovation, training, and sustainable energy solutions.
