Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad said that Libya is witnessing a genuine and unprecedented shift in security, stability, and reconstruction, as he attended the inauguration of several development and service projects in the southern city of Sebha.
Hammad took part in the opening ceremonies alongside the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Misbah Douma, and the Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, engineer Belqasem Haftar. The event was attended by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar, as well as senior legislative, executive, military, and civilian officials.
The inaugurations followed the completion of maintenance, rehabilitation, and development works carried out by the Development and Reconstruction Fund as part of its comprehensive plan to upgrade infrastructure and public services across southern Libya.
The newly opened projects cover key sectors, including housing, education, healthcare, and essential utilities such as water and electricity networks. Authorities also confirmed that work is continuing on additional projects, alongside the launch of new initiatives aimed at ensuring reconstruction efforts reach all southern cities without exception.
Members of the House of Representatives, government officials, security and military leaders, Sebha’s municipal council members, and local elders and community leaders attended the events, reflecting broad societal engagement in monitoring and supporting development plans.
In a speech during the ceremony, Prime Minister Hammad said that the current levels of security, stability, and reconstruction represent a real and unprecedented transformation affecting cities and regions across eastern, western, and southern Libya. He attributed this progress to the sacrifices of the armed forces and sustained state efforts to restore order and rebuild institutions.
Hammad stressed that Libya’s national solutions must stem from the will of the Libyan people without foreign interference. He called on all citizens to engage in the path of construction and development, safeguard stability, and reject chaos or any attempts to undermine public interests.
The prime minister also announced that Libya has reached the final stages of implementing the national reconciliation charter, with decisions to be issued to allocate funds and disburse compensation for those affected. He said the measures aim to open a new chapter based on justice, reconciliation, and social cohesion.
