Libyan National Army (LNA) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar has stressed the need to raise combat readiness and operational efficiency across all military units, during a high-level meeting at the General Command headquarters.
The expanded meeting was attended by Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar, along with several senior commanders and heads of staff, as part of ongoing efforts to review the security and military situation and strengthen coordination among different commands and formations.
Among those present were Vice Admiral Shoaib Al-Saber, Major General Abdul Salam Al-Hassi, Major General Adel Boushah, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, and Major General Safwan Bouteghan. The participants reviewed a range of files related to military operations and tasks carried out by the various departments during the past period.
Field Marshal Haftar was briefed on detailed reports covering overall performance, the implementation of previously issued directives, levels of operational readiness, military discipline, and the challenges faced by some units while carrying out their duties.
The meeting also examined the latest military and security developments in light of current regional and domestic conditions, as well as mechanisms for addressing potential threats in a manner that safeguards stability, protects state institutions, and preserves national resources. Commanders underlined the importance of continuous coordination and maintaining a high state of alert to respond swiftly to any emergency.
Future operational plans prepared by the General Staff were also reviewed, focusing on institutional development and enhancing the combat capabilities of all branches and units through advanced training, professional qualification, modernization of operational methods, and reinforcement of discipline.
In closing, Field Marshal Haftar called for the full implementation of approved plans and emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity of command to ensure the armed forces remain in a constant state of readiness to fulfill their national duty of protecting Libya’s security and stability under all circumstances.
