Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, carried out a field visit on Wednesday to the General Administration of Central Support in Benghazi, where he reviewed operational readiness and officially inaugurated the unit’s new headquarters.
Upon arrival, Haftar was received by Interior Ministry Undersecretary Faraj Aqeem and the Director of Central Support, Khaled Masoud Al-Farsi, alongside senior officers and personnel. The visit included an assembly of officers and members of the Central Support units, providing an opportunity to assess discipline, preparedness, and overall performance.
During the visit, Haftar evaluated the readiness levels of the force and reviewed the conditions of its personnel. He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism, discipline, and rapid response capabilities, particularly in light of ongoing security challenges.
Particular attention was given to a group of Central Support personnel who recently completed specialized training in Belarus, where they received advanced instruction in riot control and crowd management. The training is part of broader efforts to modernize security forces and enhance their ability to manage complex security situations.
Haftar reaffirmed the commitment of the General Command to strengthening security institutions through continuous training, improved infrastructure, and enhanced coordination between military and security bodies. He emphasized that building capable and well-equipped forces remains essential to maintaining stability and public order.
The visit concluded with the official inauguration of the new Central Support headquarters, a facility equipped with modern infrastructure aimed at improving operational efficiency and working conditions. Officials described the project as part of a wider plan to upgrade security institutions across eastern Libya.
