US Presidential Adviser Massad Boulos has discussed the latest political and economic developments in Libya with Belgassim Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, during a phone call focused on stability, development, and reconstruction efforts.
During the call, Boulos, who serves as adviser to the US President on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs and as senior adviser for African affairs, extended his greetings on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and wished the Libyan people continued security, stability, and progress.
The two sides reviewed recent developments in Libya, including political and economic conditions, as well as ongoing efforts to support stability across the country. They also discussed the importance of strengthening development and reconstruction projects to improve living conditions and support the national economy.
Boulos reaffirmed Washington’s interest in closely following developments in Libya and supporting efforts aimed at achieving security, stability, and economic development. He also stressed the importance of continued coordination and communication with different Libyan actors to serve shared interests and strengthen regional stability.
For his part, Belqasim Haftar expressed appreciation for the call and underlined the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation with international partners to support reconstruction and development projects in Libya.
He said Libya needs further support to upgrade infrastructure and improve basic services in several cities and regions, especially as reconstruction remains a major priority for the country.
Both sides also agreed on the importance of maintaining communication and exchanging views in the coming period. They stressed that such efforts could support the Libyan people’s aspirations for political stability, sustainable development, and wider reconstruction across the country.
