Early on Tuesday, the Libyan National Army (LNA) announced that four Islamic State (IS) members had been killed in clashes with a Libyan military detachment in the southern city of Sebha.

The terrorist organisation’s members were identified after their elimination. They had holed up in a number of houses in the Abdul Kafi neighbourhood of the city. It turned out that two of them were Saudi and the third Australian.

According to the information received, the fourth IS member blew himself up, accompanied by two other operatives. The LNA is still besieging those who remained inside the neighbourhood and is currently hunting down the last members of this group who fled through the sewers of the neighbourhood.

This counter-terrorism mission is being carried out by units of the LNA’s 116th Infantry Brigade and 160th Infantry Battalion.
