The Libyan Parliament Speaker Ageela Saleh, said that he remains on a single path with the Head of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, to solve the Libyan crisis.

During an interview with Al-Arabiya, Saleh added that his meeting with Haftar, which was sponsored by Egypt, was to support a political solution and unify Libya’s institutions. He emphasized that the Cairo Declaration is the most viable solution to resolving the conflict, impartially.

Concerning the new Presidential Council, Saleh explained that it is not permissible for the President, and Head of Government to be from a single region. He confirmed that each region will name its representative for the Presidential Council.

He stressed that when a new governmental authority is agreed upon, all previously signed international agreements will be reviewed. This is in reference to Turkey, and its agreements signed with the Government of National Accord (GNA). Saleh reiterated his assertion that he would not allow Libya’s oil money to reach the armed militias. He called on the international community to pledge to help stop this from happening. Saleh also added that once authority is established, the LNA would expel all mercenaries from Libya.
