Libyan Health Minister Confirms Country is Free from Coronavirus but “Concern is Significant”

The Libyan Minister of Health, Saad Agoub, announced that Libya is free of Coronavirus, following the negative test results of 15 suspected cases.

During the meeting of the Supreme Committee to Combat the Coronavirus Epidemic on Thursday, Agoub indicated that the “concern remains significant”, despite all suspected cases being tested negative.

Additionally, the Minister of Health expressed his gratitude to the medical staff and monitoring teams for their actions in the face of this crisis, despite modest capabilities. Besides urging everyone to stand together and avoid spreading panic among citizens, Saad Agoub reaffirmed the suspension of education classes and the imposition of curfews for a period of two weeks to prevent and control the virus’ spread.
