Egypt Launches Military Drill in Mediterranean Sea

The Egyptian Armed Forces announced the implementation of a large military drill in the Mediterranean Sea with the participation of Cyprus, Greece, France, and the UAE.

Egypt also announced the launching of the joint Egyptian, Greek, and Cypriot naval air training activities, named “Medusa 10”. This will last for several days, in the Mediterranean, with Saudi Arabia, the US, Bahrain, Sudan, Jordan, Italy, and Germany also participating in the drill as observers, the statement said.

The drill includes implementing several joint naval and air combat tasks to enhance the skills of commanders and officers in managing joint operations. It will also include the exchange of expertise to reach the highest levels of efficiency and readiness, and to implement joint tasks under various circumstances. especially in light of the rapid changes witnessed on the regional and international arena.

The statement said, “The participants expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and good organisation which comes in light of the growing partnership and military cooperation between the Egyptian Armed Forces and friendly and brotherly nations.”
