The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Libya (UNHCR) stated in a report that the number of internally displaced persons registered with the agency has now reached 316,415. The number of refugees and asylum seekers registered with UNHCR exceeds 44,725.

The UNHCR added it has covered 928,942 people of concern as of December.

The suffering of the displaced persons continues due to the economic conditions as well as the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country, and in spite of the war’s cessation.

The UNHCR and humanitarian organisations provide continuous support to the displaced through financial aid, basic relief items, and small projects.

Persons eligible to benefit from the centre include refugees recognized by UNHCR Libya, asylum-seekers registered with UNHCR Libya, children and youth at risk (registered as refugees) as well as spouses and children of asylum-seekers and refugees.
