Al-Sarraj Discusses Recent Developments With German Ambassador

On Thursday, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, met with German Ambassador to Libya Oliver Owcza.

The two discussed the recent military and political developments in Libya.

During the meeting, Owcza underlined Germany’s willingness to implement the outcomes of the Berlin Conference in line with the military, political and economic tracks set up by the UN.

Owcza reiterated Germany’s determination to achieve stability in Libya.

Al-Sarraj expressed his appreciation for the efforts of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to find a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis.

He pointed out that the GNA announced its commitment to the decisions of the Berlin Conference upon its declaration.

The Prime Minister also said that his government was taking its positions in accordance with established national principles and values.

He stated that they will not delay any serious meeting with real partners seeking to establish a civil and democratic state.
