The Tripoli Eye Hospital recently announced the acquisition of the “Stellaris Elite” vitreoretinal surgery system, a cutting-edge piece of equipment designed for major surgical procedures. This advanced technology represents one of the latest advancements in the field and joins the hospital’s already sophisticated array of medical devices.

According to a statement released on the hospital’s Facebook page last Sunday, the Stellaris Elite system enhances the hospital’s capabilities to perform precise and complex eye surgeries. The addition of this state-of-the-art technology underscores the hospital’s commitment to offering the highest standard of eye care.

The statement further highlighted that the Tripoli Eye Hospital has become the sole public sector facility in Libya capable of conducting specialized eye operations. This development marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s efforts to provide exceptional ophthalmic care to its patients.

The acquisition of the Stellaris Elite system was made possible through the Ministry of Health’s treatment localization program, under the supervision of the interim Government of National Unity. The program aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services in Libya.

This significant upgrade at the Tripoli Eye Hospital not only advances Libya’s healthcare infrastructure but also positions the hospital as a leader in eye care within the region. Moreover, the hospital’s initiative to host an international ophthalmology conference in May further demonstrates its commitment to fostering global collaboration and advancing the field of eye health.
