The Libya International Quran Competition commenced this morning, featuring contestants from 62 countries and a judging panel of renowned Quran reciters. According to Mohammed Al-Abbani, head of the General Authority for Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the event will include various cultural and scientific activities.

Last April, the Libyan government proudly announced that Libyan citizen Abdelhadi Hussein Khalifa, hailing from the vibrant city of Derna, secured first place in the Tanzania International Quran Competition.
The competition, which began in the holy month of Ramadan on March 27 and concluded on March 31, took place in Tanzania, drawing participants from around the world.
