On Thursday. Libya’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ageela Saleh, met with Belgassim Khalifa Haftar, the Director-General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, to review the nation’s ongoing and future rebuilding efforts.

The meeting focused on the fund’s strategic role in revitalizing key cities, including Derna and Benghazi, while addressing reconstruction needs across other regions of the country.

Haftar provided an update on the fund’s progress, emphasizing its commitment to meeting established timelines and delivering projects that align with Libya’s broader development objectives. The agenda also included discussions about upcoming initiatives supported by agreements with foreign companies, reflecting Libya’s growing emphasis on international cooperation in its recovery journey.

Ageela Saleh commended Haftar for his steadfast leadership and dedication, highlighting the visible impact of the fund’s work in improving Libya’s infrastructure and living conditions. He described the projects as a shining example of national commitment and a significant step toward rebuilding a united and prosperous Libya.

The Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund has been at the forefront of addressing post-conflict challenges, focusing on both immediate rehabilitation needs and long-term growth. Through partnerships with foreign entities, the fund has attracted technical expertise and investments to modernize infrastructure, create jobs, and restore essential services in areas affected by years of conflict and neglect.

This meeting marks a reaffirmation of Libya’s commitment to moving forward with a cohesive reconstruction strategy, ensuring that all projects are implemented effectively and equitably.
