Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hammad, accompanied by Eng. Belgasem Khalifa Haftar, Director General of the Libya Reconstruction and Development Fund, officially inaugurated the Project Management Office of the Reconstruction and Development Fund in Benghazi.
The event was marked by a grand ceremony attended by prominent figures, including Project Management Director Hatem Al-Aribi, members of the Libyan House of Representatives, government ministers, security officials, and representatives of the Reconstruction Fund, alongside local dignitaries and activists.
The new office represents a pivotal step in advancing infrastructure projects and improving the quality of life for Libyan citizens. With this launch, the Reconstruction and Development Fund aims to spearhead transformative initiatives that will contribute to the country’s growth and development.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of collaboration across government bodies to ensure the success of these initiatives, expressing optimism about the positive impact on Libya’s infrastructure and citizen welfare.
Libya has been in chaos since a NATO-backed uprising toppled longtime leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The county has for years been split between rival administrations.
