The Libyan Football Federation has officially confirmed that the national team will take part in the 2025 Arab Cup, scheduled to be hosted by Qatar.

The tournament will take place from December 1 to December 18, 2025, with qualifying matches to be held on November 25 and 26.

Libya’s participation marks a renewed effort to strengthen its presence in regional football and provide its national team with valuable competitive experience.

The Arab Cup, which is organized in collaboration with FIFA and the Union of Arab Football Associations, brings together top national teams from across the Arab world, making it one of the region’s most anticipated football events.

The tournament will return to Qatar, which previously hosted the 2021 edition and earned international praise for its organization and infrastructure. For Libya, the 2025 Arab Cup is seen as an important step in building team cohesion, testing young talent, and preparing for larger continental and international competitions, including World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 2025 edition will be the 11th iteration of the Arab Cup and the second organized under FIFA’s jurisdiction. Qatar, having previously hosted the tournament in 1998 and 2021, will once again provide world-class facilities and infrastructure for the event.

The tournament will feature 16 national teams from the Arab world, including Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and host nation Qatar
