A group of members of the Libyan House of Representatives has called for the restructuring and redistribution of sovereign positions in order to achieve national balance and ensure the proper management of state institutions.

In a joint statement, the lawmakers said the current situation has become “politically, legally, and ethically unacceptable,” stressing that sovereign positions must be assigned based on merit and professional qualifications rather than narrow political or regional interests.

They warned that keeping key positions in the hands of a single faction or region undermines national trust and hinders the building of a fair state founded on the principle of national partnership.

The statement also emphasized the need to end monopolization over vital institutions such as the Central Bank of Libya, the Audit Bureau, the Administrative Control Authority, the Public Prosecution, and the top judicial and financial councils.

According to the signatories, reshaping these posts through agreed constitutional frameworks has become a national necessity to reform state institutions and rebuild public trust in Libya’s legislative and oversight bodies.

They concluded by affirming their determination to push forward with this process in the coming phase to promote Libya’s stability and preserve the unity of its institutions.
