The Egyptian Consulate General in Benghazi has confirmed that visa facilitation measures for Libyan citizens traveling to Egypt remain fully in effect, dismissing recent speculation about possible changes to entry procedures.
The clarification comes in response to a growing number of inquiries from Libyan citizens seeking guidance on travel requirements.
In an official statement, the consulate emphasized that Libyan women and girls continue to receive entry visas directly upon arrival at Egyptian ports of entry, with no prior coordination required.
The consulate stressed that this policy remains unchanged and applies to all female Libyan travelers, in line with existing regulations.
The statement further clarified that Libyan men aged over 45 years, as well as children under the age of 18, are also eligible to obtain visas upon arrival under the same procedures currently in place.
These categories continue to benefit from simplified entry arrangements intended to facilitate family, medical, and personal travel between the two countries.
For Libyan male travelers between the ages of 18 and 45, the consulate explained that advance coordination remains a requirement.
In such cases, applicants are requested to submit a copy of their passport and a personal photograph to the consulate in Benghazi to complete the coordination process.
Once the required documentation is received and processed, the visa is issued without delay, allowing travelers to proceed with their journey.
The consulate highlighted that this coordination mechanism is designed to organize travel procedures efficiently while ensuring clarity and smooth processing for applicants.
It also reassured Libyan citizens that applications are handled promptly and transparently.
Concluding its statement, the Egyptian Consulate General reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating travel for Libyan citizens and underscored that these measures reflect the strong fraternal relations between Libya and Egypt.
The consulate emphasized that ongoing efforts to ease travel procedures stem from the deep historical, social, and economic ties linking the two countries, and from a shared desire to support the mobility and interests of their citizens.
