The Chair of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee at Libya’s House of Representatives, Yousef Al-Agouri , took part in the official launch ceremony of the Khalifa International Foundation for Humanitarian Work, an event marked by wide international participation.

According to a statement published by the Libyan House of Representatives on its official Facebook page, the ceremony was attended by international representatives and humanitarian figures, underscoring the importance of the initiative amid ongoing regional challenges, including humanitarian crises, economic pressures, and natural disasters affecting several countries in the region.

Al-Agouri expressed his pleasure at participating in the event, stressing that the current phase requires intensified and coordinated humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable groups and provide assistance to those affected by crises. He noted that instability in neighboring countries has created direct humanitarian repercussions, making organized relief work more critical than ever.

He praised the humanitarian role played by the Khalifa International Foundation, commending its vision, activities, and strategic approach to dealing with humanitarian emergencies. Al-Agouri highlighted the foundation’s commitment to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable citizens and reaching remote and underserved areas to provide essential services and basic necessities.

The Libyan lawmaker emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in preserving human dignity, strengthening social stability, and promoting values of solidarity and national unity. He further underlined the importance of structured and institutional humanitarian action as a key partner in supporting communities and complementing state efforts during times of crisis.

Observers described the launch of the foundation as a significant step toward expanding Libya’s humanitarian outreach regionally and internationally, at a time when cooperation between governmental institutions and civil society organizations is increasingly essential to address complex humanitarian challenges.
