The Libyan Parliament-designate government in Benghazi has strongly condemned what it described as Iranian attacks targeting Gulf countries, warning that such actions pose a serious threat to regional security and stability.
In an official statement, the government led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad denounced the strikes against the United Arab Emirates, as well as reported threats affecting Oman. It described the incidents as a clear violation of state sovereignty and international law, stressing that such escalation could destabilise the wider region.
The statement emphasised that any attack on Arab national security represents a direct threat to collective regional stability. It warned that continued escalation risks fuelling further instability and tension, calling for a firm and unified Arab and international response to deter such actions.
Libyan authorities underlined that respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity remains a cornerstone of international relations. They urged all parties to avoid steps that could lead to broader confrontation, reiterating the importance of dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
The government also expressed full solidarity with the UAE and Oman, affirming its support for measures aimed at safeguarding their security and stability. It stressed Libya’s commitment to standing alongside allied nations in confronting threats that undermine peace in the region.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf, with growing concerns over the potential impact on regional security dynamics and global energy markets.
