Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Bashar Al-Jaafari, stressed that it is unacceptable to allow the Turkish government to take advantage of displaced Syrians in Turkey and use them as a card to blackmail Europe. He protested what he believed to be Turkey’s pressure of European states to militarily support his government under the guise of NATO.

According to the Syrian news agency “SANA”, Al-Jaafari said, during an online session of the Security Council on Monday, that it was unacceptable to ignore the Turkish governments support for terrorism and its public transfer of terrorists from Syria’s Idlib to Libya, after it had facilitated the transfer of thousands of terrorists years ago from Libya to Syria.
