A delegation from the Airports Authority in Egypt will visit Libya in the coming days to inspect airports in preparation for the resumption of flights between Cairo International Airport, and Mitiga, Misrata, and Benina airports.
According to the airport administration, the General Director of Afriqiyah Airways reported the results of his visit to Egypt, alongside a delegation from the Ministry of Transportation. He also held several meetings with officials of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, where it was agreed to make arrangements for the resumption of flights from Libya to Cairo.
In April, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Mabouly visited Tripoli and met a number of senior officials, including the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi and the Prime Minister, Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba.
Madbouly expressed his support for national reconciliation efforts in Libya, to ensure development and prosperity for the Libyan people.
In a joint press conference with his Libyan counterpart, Madbouly said both countries’ officials will hold talks on boosting cooperation, and that direct flights between Egypt and Libya would soon resume.
