On Tuesday, Libya’s Minister of Housing and Construction, Abu-Bakr Al-Ghawi said reconstruction and repair of damage to public and private institutions is the top priority of the government.

Al-Ghawi held a meeting with a delegation from the municipality of Swani Bani Adam, where he stressed the importance of the municipal council’s communication with the ministries and informing them of the needs of citizens.

The two sides discussed infrastructure problems, the damages resulting from the conflicts, and ways to address them.

Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU), headed by Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba is seeking to sign contracts to reconstruct the war-torn country. Among the countries that are at the forefront to win reconstruction contracts are neighbouring Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria, as well as Italy.
