On Monday, the European Union Mission to Libya (EUBAM) greeted the Libyan people on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, saying that this is an opportunity to renew ties among people, and show the meaning of fraternity and love.

“This year’s Eid Al-Adha comes at a time when Libya has made real progress towards peace and national reconciliation,” it said in a statement. It also expressed its wishes that this Eid will be the beginning of a year full of hope and optimism for the Libyan people.

Earlier today, the Spokeswoman for the European External Action Service (EEAS), Nabila Massrali, denied reports that the EU would send a military mission to prop up the ceasefire in Libya.
Massrali indicated that there is no discussion at the moment about an EU military mission in Libya, “the EU is committed to continue supporting Libya’s return to peace and stability, including through its civilian mission EUBAM Libya, and its military operation in the Mediterranean EUNAVFOR MED IRINI.”
