The Benghazi Security Directorate has coordinated with banks to avoid congestion and ease citizens’ access to funds.

The Directorate’s head, Adel Abdulaziz, issued instructions to the city’s security agencies to alleviate the congestion in banks in a bid to confront the COVID-19 threat.

This was implemented by organizing a cash-based payment mechanism.

The initiative has been successful with the mechanism running smoothly with the aid of security agencies, helping to reduce overcrowding and ensure timely payouts.

The Libyan Red Crescent emergency team was deployed to banks to educate citizens on the importance of social distancing amid the spread of COVID-19.
