Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Monday the recovery of 9 COVID-19 cases, adding that no new cases or deaths were recorded.

On April 12, one positive case had been discovered, bringing the total number of people infected with the virus to 25. This includes one death from complications caused by the virus. Both governments in the country have taken several precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The municipal council of Misrata decided on the April 4 to cancel the 24-hour curfew announced a week earlier.

In a statement, it announced it would implement the Tripoli based Government of National Accord’s curfew hours of 2 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The Prime Minister of Libya’s Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thini, ordered the formation of a committee tasked with disinfecting and sterilizing all Libyan cities, to counter the outbreak of the virus in Libya.
