On Thursday, the Ministry of Health of the Government of National Accord (GNA) announced the country’s third COVID-19 related death. In a statement, the Ministry said that a 92 year old woman has died of complications from the virus.

The Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Wednesday that Libya had not recorded any new cases of COVID-19 over the past five days, stating that the latest batch of 55 suspected samples had all tested negative for the virus.

Last week, the Presidential Council of the GNA announced the reduction of curfew hours in Libya’s western cities. The new curfew went into effect on April 28 and will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Libya has so far registered 61 total cases of COVID-19, including 18 recoveries and 3 deaths.
