On Wednesday, Richard Brennan, Director of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Regional Emergency Department, said that test rates for COVID-19 in countries that suffer from humanitarian situations like Libya are still below the level they wanted.

Brennan added that the total tests that were conducted in the Middle East amounted to 3.3 million, indicating that there is an increase in the percentage of tests in some countries, especially the Gulf countries, Pakistan and Iran.

On Wednesday, Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that no new COVID-19 cases have been reported for the seventh consecutive day in the country.

The total number of confirmed cases in Libya remains at 64, with 33 active cases under medical observation.

Libya’s death toll due to complications from the virus stands at 3 people.

“Up to 28 cases have successfully recovered so far in the country,” the NCDC said in its statement.
