The Foreign Ministry of Kuwait welcomed the initiative presented by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi for peace in Libya.

The latter is known as the “Cairo Declaration”, a peace initiative that steps up international efforts aimed at stopping the bloodshed in Libya.

In a statement, the Ministry said that its support for the Egyptian initiative comes in line with its support for the initiative of the UN Secretary-General for a nationwide ceasefire that was announced last March, with the aim of uniting efforts to address the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry also reiterated its call on all warring parties to commit to a sustainable ceasefire in Libya.
