Major Drug Dealer Arrested in Benghazi A major drug dealer was apprehended by the Al-Kuwayfiya Police Station. He had previously been sentenced to one year in prison in absentia.
According to a statement released by the Benghazi Security Directorate, the investigative team successfully captured the wanted individual, who had four pending cases at the center, and was found in an “abnormal state.” Upon searching the suspect, three pieces of cannabis and five Tramadol pills were discovered in his possession.
He was subsequently transported to the Al-Kuwayfiya Police Station, where it was revealed through an investigation that the individual had already been sentenced to one year in prison for unrelated offences, as stated in the press release.
The police have taken the necessary legal measures against the drug dealer, and confiscated the seized substances, in preparation for handing him over to the public prosecution. In a related development, the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency in the Hai Al-Andalus district arrested a citizen on charges of drug trafficking. The suspect was allegedly transporting cannabis and other narcotics from the city of Al-Zawiya to Tripoli. The agency received information regarding an individual in possession of four large-sized pieces suspected to be cannabis, weighing approximately one kilogram.
Additionally, the suspect was found with five tablets of the Lyrica narcotic drug, and two Tramadol tablets, according to a statement. The successful arrests and seizures demonstrate the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies in combating drug-related crimes.
