The Prime Minister of the Libyan Parliament-designated government, Osama Hammad directed the reconstruction and maintenance works in Sulug, a neighbourhood of Benghazi.

Hammad was accompanied by Hatem Al-Arabi, the Chairman of the Benghazi Reconstruction and Stability Committee, and committee member, Faraj Iqaim.

During his visit, Hammad stressed the need to assess the region, and monitor the state of services provided to residents.

This provided an opportunity for the Prime Minister to gain first-hand knowledge of the condition of various government, and educational institutions in Sulug.

Additionally, he actively engaged with the residents of the area. They expressed their frustration over the poor condition of the roads, highlighting the urgent need for repairs and improvements to ensure safer transportation, and better connectivity within the city.

On Wednesday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar accompanied by Hammad inspected the construction of several bridges in Benghazi.

Members of the Benghazi Reconstruction and Stability Committee attended the visit. They provided Haftar with updates on the latest progress made by the executing companies.

Haftar commended the work, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the same pace and adhering to engineering, technical, and quality standards. “This is to ensure that Benghazi becomes a hub for economy, culture, and civilization,” according to the statement.

Notably, the Benghazi Reconstruction and Stability Committee continues its efforts to construct four new bridges in the city, following a partnership agreement with the Egyptian company, Wadi Al-Nile.
