“Dendias: Turkish Military Intervention in Libya Violates Security Council Resolutions”

On Sunday, the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, reiterated his opposition to the Turkish military intervention in Libya, stressing that it violates United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Dendias tweeted that any concept of legitimacy in Libya must be protected by Europe, through the “IRINI” military operation that aims at monitoring the arms embargo imposed on Libya.

“IRINI” is a naval operation launched by the European Union in order to monitor the UN Security Council resolutions imposing an arms embargo on Libya, but the Turkish authorities continue to send weapons and Syrian mercenaries to the North African country to support the Government of National Accord (GNA) against the Libyan National Army (LNA).
