“The next monthly meeting of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya will be co-chaired by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the League of Arab States, as agreed upon during the last meeting,” stated the spokesman of UNSMIL, Jean Alam.

He added that the meeting will be “based on principles the Berlin conference, which provides for rotation in the joint presidency of the meetings with the mission among all parties that participated in the conference”.

Alam explained that “all Member States and regional organizations that attended the Berlin conference were invited to participate in the high-level meeting, along with Switzerland and the Netherlands, which had co-chaired the working group on international humanitarian law and human rights law. This is one of the working groups that work under the supervision of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya”.
