Mehmet Bakkar, an advisor at the International Criminal Court (ICC), accused Turkey of committing war crimes in the ongoing Libyan crisis.

Bakkar said that crimes of aggression against the Libyan people, part of the ICC’s Rome Statute, applies to Turkish actions.

The Government of National Accord (GNA) admitted for the first time that such violations occurred in the city of Tarhuna. The GNA’s Interior Minister, Fathi Bashaga, stated that their forces committed human rights violations, according to the ‘Libya Al-Ahrar‘ news channel.

The Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, condemned the human rights violations that allegedly took place after the GNA’s takeover of the western region. He denounced the destruction of public and private property there.

Mohamed Al-Misbah, head of the Supreme Council of the Sheikhs and Notables of Libya, had an exclusive interview with the Al-Hadath news channel. He stated that more than 4,000 members of the Syrian Al-Nusra Front and other militants entered Tarhuna, causing the displacement of thousands of civilians.

A source at the Pentagon told Al-Arabiya news that Washington demanded an end to foreign interference in Libya. The United States has also called for an immediate ceasefire and the resumption of political negotiations.
