The Elysee Palace announced that French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday to discuss a number of topics, including the Libyan conflict.

This is part of the framework of the French-Russian strategic dialogue.

Macron has called for an end to the war in Libya and for negotiations between the warring parties to resume.

During a joint press conference in Paris with Tunisian President Kais Saeed, Macron said that “France, and Tunisia are asking together that the parties to the conflict in Libya stop the war and resume negotiations”.
