Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun, met with executives from ConocoPhillips Libya Waha Limited on Wednesday at the Ministry of Oil and Gas. The meeting focused on strategic partnerships aimed at advancing Libya’s oil and gas industry.

Minister Aoun highlighted the importance of collaboration with American oil companies, particularly ConocoPhillips, for their expertise in improving operations within Libya’s oil sectors. This partnership is seen as key to boosting the nation’s oil and gas production, critical for Libya’s economic recovery.

The discussion centered on ConocoPhillips’ commitment to increasing production and facilitating knowledge transfer, especially in areas operated by the Waha Oil Company. The meeting also addressed financial and investment strategies, ensuring they align with current agreements.

Emphasizing the need for transparency, governance, and regulatory compliance, Minister Aoun underscored these principles as foundational to the industry’s operational and contractual standards.

Representatives from ConocoPhillips pledged to enhance production levels throughout the year, supported by a comprehensive work plan. This commitment is in line with Libya’s goals to stabilize and grow its oil and gas sector, an essential component of the country’s economy.

Concluding the meeting, ConocoPhillips acknowledged the importance of these strategic discussions in reaching production goals, indicating the company’s role in supporting Libya’s pursuit of economic stability and growth through enhancements in the oil and gas sector.
