The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that Sirte Oil Company for Production, Manufacturing of Oil and Gas has made a significant discovery in the realms of gas and condensates. This breakthrough comes following the drilling of the exploratory well (WWWWWW1-6) within a new geological structure in the contract area (MN.6) southeast of Al Laheeb field.

The well was tested last Saturday, after successful drilling operations reached a final depth of 8,666 feet (equivalent to 2,641 meters). The productivity test results from the Wahat layer with a choke size of 48/64 inches revealed that the well produces 16.8 million cubic feet of gas per day and 626 barrels of oil per day, with a gravity of 49 (API).

This achievement is a direct result of the persistent work, continuous follow-up, and significant attention the NOC’s top management devotes to achieving ambitious targets and increasing oil and gas production across various oil sites.

On this occasion, the NOC’s board of directors extends its deepest thanks and appreciation to the employees of Sirte Company, acknowledging their efforts that contributed to this achievement. This discovery will help increase the gas volumes required to supply the coastal network with its natural gas needs.
