Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwaij, met with the South Korean Ambassador to Libya, Jang Je-hak, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation.

The meeting focused on increasing trade and investment between the two countries and exploring opportunities to develop bilateral relations in various fields.

Minister Al-Hwaij emphasised the importance of activating agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between Libya and South Korea.

He stressed the need to strengthen the role of the private sector, facilitate the movement of business people between the two countries, and promote investment partnerships. The discussion also highlighted the necessity of addressing and resolving any obstacles facing bilateral trade and investment.

The meeting reviewed potential cooperation in training to improve the performance of Libyan economic institutions. Key areas for collaboration include corporate governance, e-commerce, and the management of economic zones and free zones.

This engagement underscores Libya’s commitment to fostering stronger economic ties with South Korea and leveraging South Korean expertise to enhance Libya’s economic sectors. The focus on training and development aims to ensure sustainable growth and improved governance within Libyan institutions.
