On Monday, Paul Soler, the special envoy of the French President to Libya, met with Mohamed al-Mnifi, the head of the Libyan Presidential Council.

Soler reaffirmed France’s support for efforts aimed at resolving the political deadlock in Libya, ensuring stability, and moving towards elections, according to al-Menfi’s media office.

The meeting was also attended by the French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraji.

Soler emphasised France’s dedication to the Libyan issue, expressing a commitment to contributing to the resolution of the political impasse to guarantee stability and facilitate electoral processes.

This visit comes less than a month after Soler’s meeting with Ageela Saleh, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, on 8 July.

Their discussions centred on solutions to end the political stalemate and maintain Libya’s stability, security, and sovereignty, as announced by the French embassy on its Facebook page.

The French embassy highlighted that Macron’s envoy held “constructive discussions” with Saleh, without providing further details.

The media office of the House of Representatives indicated that the meeting covered the constitutional pathway and the organisation of presidential and parliamentary elections, alongside several other issues.
