Turkey’s Deputy Interior Minister, Munir Karaloğlu, arrived at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli on Sunday morning. He is in Libya to attend the second meeting of the Libya-Turkey Security Cooperation Committee.

The Deputy Minister was received by Major General Nour Eddin Abu Jarida, Director of International Relations and Cooperation. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that a formal reception ceremony was held for Karaloğlu and his delegation.

This visit follows earlier meetings between Libyan and Turkish officials to enhance bilateral security initiatives. On 13 October, Abu Jarida held talks with a Turkish Interior Ministry representative in Tripoli. They discussed mechanisms to advance joint security programmes and projects.

On 2 October, the Libyan Ministry of Interior signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its Turkish counterpart. The MoU focuses on security training collaboration, including joint efforts between the General Administration of Security Operations and the General Directorate of Coastal Security.

The meetings underline the growing partnership between Libya and Turkey in addressing shared security concerns and strengthening institutional ties.
