A new batch of Syrian fighters have arrived to Libyan territory in conjunction with the return of another group to Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Thursday.

According to SOHR statistics, the number of conscripts who have gone to Libya is believed to be about 16,500, including 350 child soldiers under the age of 18. An estimated 5,850 have returned to Syria after the end of their contracts.

The SOHR also indicated that the death toll is thought to be 481 fighters, including 34 child soldiers and militia leaders.

Turkey continues to recruit and train these fighters before transferring them to Libya. This is to support the Tripoli-based Government National Accord (GNA), led by Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj, against the Libyan National Army (LNA), which is led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
