Al-Mismari: 3,000 Turkish Soldiers In Libya

The spokesman for the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, claimed that there were about 3,000 Turkish soldiers stationed in Libya.

In a press interview, Al-Mismari stated that these Turkish soldiers and officers oversee what he described as “the Turkish invasion” of Libya. They are leading the Government of National Accord (GNA) forces, as well as the foreign mercenaries in their battles against the LNA.

Al-Mismari’s statements came after the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh, stressed the necessity of ending the “Turkish aggression” in Libya, and preventing any form of foreign intervention.

During his meeting in Amman with the Jordanian Parliament Speaker, Atef Tarawneh on Wednesday, Saleh called for a ceasefire in Libya and the start of direct dialogue under Arab and international auspices.

On Tuesday, Germany announced its intention to send a military frigate to the Mediterranean as part of the European Union’s naval mission ‘IRINI’. This is to monitor the arms embargo imposed by the United Nations on Libya.
