Armin Laschet, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia said that Libya can return to a better position through the support of the international community.

Upon his meeting with the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday, Laschet said: “After Libya returns to the better, we will gradually be able to move to a more integrated system to tackle the immigration problem”.

He described the meeting with Dendias as “constructive”, noting that there was an interesting discussion, and an exchange of views regarding cooperation with Greece.

“We cannot allow Greece to deal with these issues alone, because they are European in nature,” Laschet said, pointing out that it is not only related to immigration.

Referring to Turkey, Laschet said that there are differences with Greece in many places, stressing the importance of reducing this tension for the common interest of all.
